In this guide we have used the splitter for the Vauxhall Corsa D LE.
All of our products have been designed to make the fitment as easy as possible. Some are easier to fit than others; we have tried and tested all our products for ease of fitment.
Some cars will need the under tray to be removed, some you will need to remove bolts or screws from the bottom of your bumper, on the model shown in this guide there was no need to remove anything. Please check you have all the relevant tools before starting the job.
Checking your delivery
When you receive your splitter it will be predrilled and include the fitting kit required.
Make sure everything is there and familiarise yourself with the contents.
Tools
Now it’s time to get your tools together, you will need:
1x Trolley Jack
2x Axle Stands
4x Clamps
1x Drill (cordless if possible)
1x 7mm Drill Bit
1x 10mm Spanner
1x Set of Allen Keys.
(If you don’t have any clamps then just ask a friend to assist with lining the splitter up and holding it in place.)
Step 1. Jacking
Firstly you need to get the front end of your car up in the air to gain access to the bottom of your bumper.
We are lucky enough to have the use of a set of mechanics ramps but if you’re not that lucky then jack and prop the front up on a set of axle stands and ensure its safe to continue.
Step 2. Clamping the splitter in place
We normally use 2 small ratchet claps on either side to hold the splitter in place. If you don’t have any of these an extra pair of hands will do just as well.
Once the splitter is clamped/held in place make sure you are happy that it is central.
All our splitters are designed and shaped to the specific car so will only really fit in one place.
The important part here is to make sure the back edge of each end of the splitter is in line with the wheel arch section of the bumper.
Step 3. Drilling
Once you are happy that the splitter is in the correct place it’s time to start drilling the holes to bolt through.
As we said earlier all the holes are predrilled in the splitter so you can use these as a guide where to drill.
Now it’s up to you if you want to use a marker pen to mark where the holes need to be, remove the splitter, drill the holes then re clamp the splitter in place. Or do as we do and drill through the hole in the splitter and through the bottom of your bumper.
Take care to ensure the splitter doesn’t move during this process.
Step 4. Bolting
Now all the holes are drilled you can start bolting the splitter in place.
The bolts go up from the underside of the splitter, through the splitter, through the bumper, then a washer on top, then the Nyloc Nut.
There is no requirement for a washer underneath the splitter as the bolts have one built in.
Tighten these by hand only, do NOT use a drill to tighten them as this will cause the stainless bolt to abrade with the stainless nut and lock them together.
Step 5. Standing back and admiring your handy work
Now your splitter is all fitted you need to remove your car from the axle stands, being just as careful as in Step 1 and see the fruit of your labour.
Bonnet lips
This process is exactly the same for any bonnet lip.
All our bonnet lips come pre-fitted with super strong 3M double sided tape.
We always suggest using a very small amount of polyurethane adhesive sealer such as Tigerseal too (this is not supplied but easily acquired from any bodyshop or eBay), just to make sure it is adhered properly.
Step 1. Preparing the bonnet
First off you will need to prepare the front of your bonnet.
To do this you will need to remove any wax and debris that will have built up over time.
We use a Meguires high cut polish to do this, any high cut polish will do. Use a bit of elbow grease to make sure you get through all the dirt.
Step 2. Lining the bonnet lip up
This is very easily done.
Just hold the bonnet lip in place (the back of the bonnet lip is shaped to fit the bonnet), then using a couple of small bits of masking tape mark where the ends of the bonnet lip will be.
Step 3. Sticking it on
Now you have the masking tape marking where the ends of the bonnet lip will be its time to pop a very small amount of the adhesive sealer (about the size of a pea) either end and in the middle.
Then you can remove the backing off the 3M tape and stick it in place.
Step 4. Making sure it sticks properly
This is probably the most important part.
Using as much masking tape as necessary ensure the bonnet lip is tapped down nice and flat to your bonnet. Leave the masking tape on and avoid using your car for a good 12 hours.
After 12 hours remove the masking tape and you’re ready to go.
Light brows
We have used the Ford Fiesta Mk7 brows as an example here.
As with the bonnet lips, these are also pre-fitted with super strong 3M double sided tape.
Our light brows can easily be fitted within a couple of minutes.
Step 1. Preparing the headlights
First, you will need to prepare your headlights. To do this you will need to remove any wax and debris that will have built up over time.
We use a Meguires high cut polish to do this, any high cut polish will do.
Use a bit of elbow grease to make sure you get through all the dirt.
Step 2. Gaining access
On the Mk7 Fiesta you will need to remove the 4 black plastic push clips that hold the grill section of the bumper in place.
This is easily done using a paint scraper, remove the central piece of each clip first then the main part.
Step 3. Fitting the lightbrows
Remove the backing off the 3M double sided tape, slip the front section of the lightbrow down between the grill and the headlight and stick the back part down to the headlight. Ensure it is stuck properly by applying a good amount of pressure.
Step 4. Finishing the job
Once you have both the light brows in place refit the clips along the top of your grill in reverse of Step 2 and the jobs done.
